Shame on you Xiaxue for showing us you are worse than the people who hate you!

Local blogger Xiaxue - pardon me coz I tend to get fits when I call out her name, so let me address her as the pink/purple/blonde hair midget from here on - is in the news today. Straits Times somemore! Seriously Straits Times, no better story to report today meh?

Anyway to summarise the story, the pink/purple/blonde hair midget is fighting back against Facebook abuse by posting the photos and information of her "abusers" on her blog. I don't have a problem with this. These people said mean things to her. She fights back. Anyone would do the same right? Fair and square but I do have a problem when she decides to post pics of the men with their family and kids.

Come on! What have their wives and kids got to do with this? I've blackened the faces here. Check this out. This is what the pink/purple/blonde hair midget has to say about these men and their nasty comments about her: "I mean just extremely distasteful, uncouth, and with absolutely no class at all."

It's funny that she would say all these and then demonstrate her lack of class by posting the above pics. Yes, absolutely no class, distasteful and let me add one more, shameless. That's what the pink/purple/blonde hair midget really is. Shame on you! Shame! Shame!

UPDATE:

So our blog queen's revenge is getting mixed reactions according to Straits Times. Some query her motives. Others have backed here. Even the Association of Women for Action and Research (Aware) cheered her on! Wah Aware leh! It is funny that Singaporeans are so forgetful, now supporting a blogger who's well known as a cyberbully herself in the past. So let me help to refresh your memory because internet never forgets.

This is the same blogger who once tweeted fat girls should take it as a compliment if people think they’re pregnant because it means someone thought they were fuckable. WTF!

This is the same blogger who goes around forums because she has nothing better to do and called the people (many of which are young girls) "losers," "dumb," "insignificant," and used foul language in regards to them! Tsk tsk tsk.

This is the same blogger who takes other people's photos without permission and then even labelled innocent men as wankers!

This is the same blogger who hates it when people treat animals better than they treat humans and even talked about masturbating to your pets!

Yes, this is the same blogger who everyone is now cheering on. Like I said, some people are just so forgetful.

New search tool Yahoo Axis couldn't find Yahoo Axis website

Just tried Yahoo Axis, Yahoo's new way to search and browse the web. You can download it for your desktop. The iPad and iPhone app versions are only available for US users right now. Yahoo Axis provides you with instant answers, visual previews of top search results for a more efficient and content-rich way to explore interests online.

Yahoo Axis is an interesting approach to search and it shows that Yahoo can still innovate but its search results suck! It's no Google alright. I tried to search for "Yahoo Axis" and none of the results actually bring me to the actual Yahoo Axis website. How's that for a BIG FAIL?

Castle made from Starburst candies is chewy and edible

Ashley makes a castle using Starburst candies! She writes: "Starbursts are waxy, so they don't glue very well. I had to use a heat gun to melt them together, one by one. Because there was no glue or anything, it was completely edible. My family and I had fun eating it until we got sick of Starbursts, then I threw it out."

SingTel Mio TV ruins English Premier League's biggest day

Football fans in Singapore including me are angry with SingTel Mio TV after the live telecasts of several English Premier League matches were interrupted repeatedly with long "freezes" on the last day of the season.

This is unacceptable SingTel! We do not pay to watch live football on your channel to have it looked like as if it was streamed illegally on the internet! In fact, several illegal internet streams of the last few minutes of the English Premier League were even better than on Mio TV. That's a complete FAIL!

Here's a video that I did to show how Singaporeans felt when Mio TV fucked up the games last night. Oh yes, we are Hulk angry alright. Over at SingTel's Facebook page, they have made a pathetic attempt at an apology.

But judging from the comments, customers are not buying it. Here are some interesting ones.

Draconian Long writes: "If there is a choice, I will never ever take Mio TV! Starhub did a good job before Singtel took over the rights. This is not the first time I had this problem. I always have this problem and seek for helpline which doesn't help at all. The most they can do, is to say sorry and they will arrange technician to come down to fix it.. BUT what the fuck it never ends."

Alex Chua writes: "Singtel can you wake up your god damn idea !!! I've been facing this "freezing issue" for awhile. Last night was the breaking point, missed my last 10 mins of what people has defined as the most exciting moments for the past 125 years of EPL. When consumer pays, we are supposed to benefit from what we paid for but with your sub-standard performance I seriously doubt so."

Andrew Teoh writes: "I've asked for a termination of the contract and I'm not paying a dime for penalty. I've contacted your help line early this morning to give your officers a piece of my mind. To which, he claims he will get someone to call me before 5. Guess what, it's past 5 and I have not heard from anyone. Typical corporate bullies"

Jasper Chew writes: "Never in my life has my football weekend been ruined and Singtel just had to mess up on the last day of the football season. I believe everyone of us deserves compensation and it had better be substantial because of the emotions involved on all the dramatic turn of events that happened last night. Unhappiness isn't the word, it's anger and hatred towards Singtel! The experience last night was plain disgusting, horrible and a football weekend I will forever remember as the WORST!"

Dave G writes: ‎"15 hours since the problem, and six hours since office hours opened today, and that's the best you can come up with? Absolutely SHAMEFUL. Singtel have ruined the greatest (and never to be repeated) finish in the Premier League."

Lucas Awesomous X writes: "I don't think anyone with Mio TV actually bothers watching any of the other channels. We only pay to watch football. We didn't get what we paid for last night. I don't think Singtel has honored its contract with its customers. And its definitely not just 'some' customers."

UPDATE: SingTel's CEO for its consumer division in Singapore has apologised and explained that the service disruptions happened because viewers switched repeatedly between channels at unusually high frequency. Wah! Not bad, blamed us. Not surprisingly, SingTel gets a big middle finger on its Facebook.

UPDATE: I found this story dated August 2010 which highlighted Mio TV's problem: "There have been many issues with SingTel’s bandwidth. Given the exclusive rights that SingTel has bid for, the operator must deliver on its promise, otherwise marketers will be unpleasantly jerked out of their behaviour." The story also says SingTel was fined in March 2010 $50,000 by MDA for a similar problem. 2 years later, it is apparent that the problem isn't fixed.

How our Avengers superheroes look like when they're young

Yearbook photos of your favourite Marvel superheroes in The Avengers! Nice hair Hawkeye and you too Iron Man. Black Widow looks like someone I would like to date in school. Thor looks like the typical Aussie surfer dude. Captain America doesn't look Captain at all. In fact he looks like someone you would beat up in school while Hulk clearly needs to get angry. (Thanks Ed Jung)

New York Times mentions my Avengers Post-Credits Scenes video in their Avengers movie review!

The New York Times movie critic, A.O. Scott mentions my Avengers post-credit scenes video in his movie review of Marvel's The Avengers. How cool is that?! The video contains all the post-credit scenes from Iron Man 1 and 2, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Thor that tie in to The Avengers movie. It has gone viral and is expected to reach 1 million views!

He writes: "So The Avengers which has been foreshadowed by post-credits teasers in (deep breath), Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk (the one with Edward Norton) and both Iron Man pictures, is not without its pleasures. Written and directed by Joss Whedon, this movie revels in the individuality of its mighty, mythical characters, pinpointing insecurities that are amplified by superhuman power and catching sparks that fly when big, rough-edged egos (and alter egos) collide."

Ok, Scott's review may be a bit too harsh - even Samuel L. Jackson thinks so - but I do have to thank him for the link love. It's not everyday that my video gets linked on New York Times you know. And the best part is Samuel L. Jackson may have even watched it!

SingTel has the worst name for a magazine ever!

So Singapore's largest telco SingTel named their magazine after the white undergarment that men wear under their shirts to keep their nipples hidden. Yes, it's called Singlet. And yes, you can laugh but it is really the name of SingTel's magazine for youths.

I guess someone from SingTel or their agency decided to be too clever and did a play with the word SingTel and BINGO, they came up with Singlet.

Very Ah Pek, I agree.

Where will you end up if you dig deep into Singapore?

The antipodal point is the region on the Earth's surface which is diametrically opposite to it. According to the very cool Antipodes Map which allows you to see the other side of the world, if you are able to dig deep - and I mean real dip! - from Singapore in a straight line through the centre of the Earth, you will end up in Yasuni National Park in Ecuador!

Vivian Lai and Kate Pang Extended Girl-On-Girl Kiss

Actress-host Vivian Lai kissed actress Kate Pang on the lips when she was announced as one of the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes during the live telecast of the Star Awards Show 2. Apparently, many viewers were offended by the kiss.

MDA is probing the incident and Mediacorp will censor the kiss for a repeat telecast as some viewers may not be comfortable with a girl-on-girl kiss on national TV. So for those of you have yet to see the kiss and will probably miss out during the repeat telecast, watch the video above for the kiss. Comes with extended version too.

HDB flats in Singapore have not shrunk, we've grown fatter!

For those of you who think that HDB flats nowadays are getting smaller and smaller, you will be glad to know that National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan has said that HDB flat sizes have not shrunk in recent years. In fact they have been the same size for the past 15 years! So if we are to believe what he said, it only means one thing: Singaporeans have grown fatter. Even Bart Simpson agrees.

Update: Looks like someone got his facts wrong!!!

Compare these two Straits Times articles. One was published last year and the other was out yesterday. One says HDB flats are shrinking to maximise land and the other says HDB flat sizes have remained unchanged. So which one is telling the truth?
